As Africa accelerates its digital transformation, South Africa is gearing up to host the 28th edition of the Africa Tech Festival from November 11 to 13, 2025, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).
The event’s return to Cape Town underscores the city’s status as the continent’s leading technology hub. The Western Cape—particularly the Cape Town-Stellenbosch corridor—has emerged as the nucleus of Africa’s innovation economy, housing over 450 tech firms and employing nearly 40,000 professionals. The region’s ecosystem is bolstered by a vibrant mix of incubators, accelerators, training providers, and investors driving sustainable tech growth.
Cape Town accounts for over 60% of South Africa’s startups and boasts one of Africa’s most active venture capital landscapes. Supported by world-class universities, a robust digital infrastructure, and a business-friendly environment, the city continues to attract leading global tech firms and investors.
Its leadership in digital infrastructure, including advanced fibre networks and renewable energy initiatives, highlights how innovation is powering economic inclusion and sustainability in the region.

Africa Tech Festival remains the continent’s largest showcase of enterprise technology innovation, spanning telecoms, connectivity, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data centres, green ICT, and media and entertainment. The 2025 event is expected to attract over 15,000 attendees, 300 exhibitors, and 450 speakers, connecting Africa’s growing digital ecosystem with the global tech community.
This year’s edition will bring together four flagship programmes—AfricaCom, AfricaTech, AfricaIgnite, and The AI Summit Cape Town—under a unified theme promoting responsible and inclusive digital growth. The festival aims to foster cross-sector dialogue on how connectivity, policy, entrepreneurship, and artificial intelligence can work together to accelerate Africa’s sustainable development goals.
