Fidelity Bank Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive community support with a charitable outreach to Oluyole Cheshire Home in Ibadan, Oyo State, as part of activities marking the festive season.
The outreach, carried out under the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP), saw the donation of food items, toiletries and other essential supplies to children living with disabilities at the home.
Speaking during the visit, the Divisional Head, Brand and Communications, Meksley Nwagboh, said the gesture was not merely seasonal but aligned with the bank’s broader mission of promoting social inclusion and improving community welfare.
He explained that the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme is a staff-led CSR initiative designed to encourage employee participation in community development projects, noting that the support extended to the Cheshire Home reflects the bank’s commitment to caring for vulnerable members of society.
Nwagboh added that the outreach was spearheaded by the Visionary Team of newly inducted employees as part of Fidelity Bank’s onboarding process, which introduces new staff to the institution’s CSR values while tasking them with executing impactful community projects.
According to him, Fidelity Bank’s CSR focus areas include education, health, social welfare, environmental sustainability and youth empowerment, stressing that employees are encouraged to uphold these principles beyond their core banking responsibilities.
The donated items are expected to help ease the home’s operational costs during the festive period and in the months ahead.
Receiving the items on behalf of the home, a caregiver and senior representative, Mr. Jimoh Taiwo, expressed appreciation to Fidelity Bank for the gesture and called on individuals and organisations to emulate the initiative by supporting the less privileged.
