Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has described fathers as heroes whose sacrifices, resilience, and unconditional love remain central to family stability and societal growth.
In a goodwill message to mark the 2026 Father’s Day, Fubara paid tribute to fathers across Rivers State and Nigeria, noting that their daily efforts continue to strengthen homes and communities.
The message, signed by his Media Aide, Onwuka Nzeshi, acknowledged the challenges faced by fathers across the state’s 23 local government areas, especially in the face of economic hardship.
Fubara said many fathers continue to work tirelessly to provide for their families despite difficult conditions, describing Father’s Day as a moment to recognise their “quiet sacrifices and dedication.”
“A father’s love is quiet strength. It is the man who leaves home before dawn and returns after dusk so his children can eat and go to school,” he said.
He added that fathers represent “the invisible thread that holds our homes together,” stressing that their sacrifices form the foundation of society.
The governor also commended the resilience of fathers who endure hardship to secure a better future for their children, describing such efforts as “heroism without medals.”
