JMG Commissions Hybrid Solar System at Lagos Branch

By Ayomide Otitoju

JMG Limited has commissioned an advanced hybrid solar power system at its Victoria Island branch in Lagos, marking another step in the company’s drive to provide reliable, sustainable and cost-effective energy solutions for businesses in Nigeria.

The newly installed system integrates 66kWp of high-efficiency solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity, 80kW of hybrid inverter capacity and 81.92kWh of lithium battery storage, creating an energy platform designed to reduce dependence on diesel generators while improving power reliability.

According to the company, the system was developed using advanced load analysis and PV simulation technology and is expected to generate approximately 94.8MWh of clean electricity annually, meeting about 80 per cent of the branch’s energy demand.

JMG said the installation will reduce diesel consumption by an estimated 28,000 litres each year, resulting in projected annual fuel savings of about ₦50 million. It is also expected to prevent more than 37 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions annually.

The project features LONGi solar panels, Deye hybrid inverters and Deye high-voltage lithium battery storage, providing intelligent energy management, uninterrupted backup power and improved operational efficiency.

Speaking on the development, JMG’s Head of Solar Division, Hussein Abbas, said the company chose to deploy the technology within its own operations to demonstrate confidence in its renewable energy solutions.

He noted that the Victoria Island branch now serves as a practical example of how businesses can improve energy reliability, lower operating costs and achieve their sustainability objectives through hybrid solar systems.

The branch will also function as a demonstration centre where customers, consultants and project developers can observe JMG’s commercial hybrid solar technology operating in a real business environment.

JMG reaffirmed its commitment to supporting organisations with innovative energy solutions that enhance energy security, reduce operating costs and promote long-term environmental sustainability.
