Kogi Speaker decries attitude of absentee lawmakers

Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Mathew Kolawole, on Tuesday decried the poor attitude of some of his colleagues to their legislative duties.

Kolawole who expressed his displeasure during the day’s plenary threatened to deploy provisions of the House rules to sanction those who refused to change.

He entertained a motion moved in respect to the situation which was seconded by the Majority Leader representing Ajaokuta State Constituency, Bello Balogun.

Citing relevant sessions of the house rules, the Speaker noted that the motion so moved was to put to effect relevant sessions of the house rules.

It was gathered that some lawmakers who were absent from the day’s plenary attended the executive session held at the Speaker’s Office.
