MTN Nigeria has held its inaugural Customer Engagement Day (CED) at its rooftop venue in Ikoyi, Lagos, reaffirming its commitment to customer-centric innovation and inclusive digital experiences.

Held under the theme “We See You. We’re With You,” the event featured real-time dialogue between customers and company executives, hands-on technology demonstrations, and forums aimed at empowering users across Nigeria’s digital landscape.

MTN Nigeria CEO, Dr. Karl Toriola, in a live fireside chat session titled “Karl2U,” fielded questions directly from customers. “Today is about transparency—answering your questions, listening to your concerns, and showing that MTN is not just a service provider, but a partner in your journey,” he said.

He emphasized MTN’s commitment to improving service quality and network consistency, stating that while data remains among the most affordable globally, delivering value and reliability remains paramount.

MTN Nigeria’s Chief Operating Officer, Ayham Moussa, highlighted the company’s deep local roots and inclusive mission. “Our journey began with ordinary Nigerians—engineers, entrepreneurs, parents. Today, we serve over 80 million people, and our focus remains supporting ambitions and making life easier,” he said.

A key session on Data Usage and Management offered customers practical tips and tools for optimizing data consumption. Chief Customer Relations & Experience Officer Ugonwa Nwoye reiterated the telco’s pledge to listen and adapt. “We see your daily realities. From parents streaming classes to small businesses on Zoom—we’re not just providing data; we’re helping you use it smarter,” she said.

Interactive booths showcased fintech services via MoMo PSB, digital literacy tools, and mentorship opportunities. The day also featured a startup pitch challenge, a digital skills academy powered by the MTN Foundation, and a “Speed Mentorship” segment where entrepreneurs and young professionals received tailored advice from MTN executives.

In her closing remarks, Chief Marketing Officer Onyinye Ikenna-Emeka said, “Today has been about listening, learning, and connecting. Your trust means everything to us. This isn’t just an event—it’s a beginning of deeper collaboration and accountability.”

The event attracted hundreds of in-person participants and thousands of virtual attendees. It marked a significant shift in MTN’s customer engagement strategy—from broadcasting to active listening, and from service provision to partnership.
