Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been named the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year for the third consecutive time, cementing her place in African football history.
Nnadozie received the honour at the 2025 CAF Awards held on Wednesday in Rabat, Morocco, adding to her previous wins in 2023 and 2024. The Brighton shot-stopper played a pivotal role in Nigeria’s capture of a record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title earlier this year, featuring in every match of the tournament.
She beat Morocco’s Khadija Er-Rmichi and South Africa’s Andile Dlamini to the award.
In her acceptance speech, the 24-year-old thanked CAF, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), and her coaches and teammates at both club and national levels for their support. Nnadozie conceded just three goals in six WAFCON matches and was also named Goalkeeper of the Tournament.
During the review period, she lifted the Coupe de France Féminine with Paris FC before joining Brighton.
In the men’s category, Morocco’s Yassine Bounou took home the Goalkeeper of the Year award.
Nnadozie’s latest accolade adds to an impressive year of individual recognition. She recently finished fourth in the women’s category of the Yachine Trophy at the 2025 Ballon d’Or awards.
Meanwhile, the Super Falcons were crowned Women’s National Team of the Year after their standout performances, including their WAFCON triumph. The 10-time champions edged Ghana’s Black Queens and Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses for the award.
Morocco’s Ghizlane Chebbak was named the CAF Women’s Player of the Year, topping compatriot Sanaa Mssoudy and Nigeria’s Rasheedat Ajibade. Chebbak emerged as the top scorer at this year’s WAFCON, despite Morocco falling to Nigeria in the final.
Morocco’s under-20 World Cup-winning squad was voted Men’s National Team of the Year.
