Okocha Defeats Portable in Chaos in the Ring Rematch

By Ayomide Otitoju

Charles Okocha reclaimed bragging rights after defeating street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, in the much-anticipated Chaos in the Ring celebrity boxing rematch held in Lagos.

The event, sponsored by Fearless Energy Drink, took place on Friday at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, attracting celebrities, sports enthusiasts and hundreds of fans.

Tagged “Unfinished Business,” the bout renewed the rivalry between Okocha and Portable, which first gained national attention in December 2023.

The contest ended dramatically after Portable walked out of the ring during the opening round and was disqualified, handing Okocha victory under the rules of the fight.

Moments earlier, tensions had flared when Portable brought Okocha to the canvas with a wrestling-style move, prompting the referee and security personnel to intervene. Although Portable later returned to argue that the takedown should have earned him the win, officials upheld the decision to award victory to Okocha.

The event also featured several professional and celebrity boxing contests, with Basit “Joker Boy” Adebayo, Yusuf Adeniji, Suleiman Jafaru, Michael Babalola and Shiloh “Sugar Shy” Defreitas recording victories in their respective bouts.

Speaking on the sponsorship, Brand Manager of Fearless Energy Drink at Rite Foods Limited, Olaniyi Aderuku, said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to supporting platforms that promote courage, resilience and determination while delivering memorable entertainment experiences.

He praised the organisers for staging a successful event and expressed confidence in future collaborations to further promote sports and entertainment in Nigeria.

Aderuku said the sponsorship aligns with the brand’s “I CAN, I AM” philosophy, which encourages Nigerians to embrace challenges, overcome obstacles and pursue their ambitions with confidence.

Fearless Energy Drink, produced by Rite Foods Limited, said it remains focused on innovation in the energy drink market, offering its Fearless Classic and Fearless Red Berry variants in both PET bottles and cans.
