ABUJA – The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has encouraged Nigerians to explore food-related businesses and other entrepreneurial ventures as part of efforts to boost economic growth and promote self-reliance.
Speaking on economic empowerment initiatives, Mrs Tinubu said her interventions are aimed at supporting individuals with grants to enable them to start or expand small businesses, stressing that beneficiaries are not being given loans but direct support to improve livelihoods.
She noted that her office has continued to provide assistance in different sectors, including health, agriculture, education, and social investment programmes.
According to her, about ₦2 billion has been committed to supporting interventions targeting tuberculosis, breast cancer, and malnutrition, with the aim of improving access to treatment and medical support.
She further highlighted ongoing efforts in agriculture development, scholarships, and ICT training programmes for youths and vulnerable groups across the country.
Mrs Tinubu said these initiatives align with the Federal Government’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” adding that the administration remains committed to addressing economic challenges and improving the welfare of citizens.
She encouraged Nigerians not to give up on their business ambitions, urging them to remain resilient and pursue legitimate ventures, noting that success is achievable regardless of initial financial constraints.Copyright TRUSTAFRICA NEWS.
