Pastor Toluwani Odukoya, daughter of the late Pastors Bimbo and Taiwo Odukoya, has confirmed the end of her marriage, putting to rest weeks of speculation among followers and members of her ministry.
Speaking on her podcast, Truth Table With Toluwani, Pastor Tolu described the separation as deeply painful, likening it to a death. “Most people don’t know that my husband and I have separated due to circumstances beyond my control. You don’t get into a marriage to leave a marriage. When your marriage is over, it is like a death,” she said.
She revealed that the end of her marriage was one of several personal losses she endured between 2021 and 2023, which included the deaths of her stepmother, her father, and her father’s twin sister. “I have experienced a couple of deaths: the death of my marriage, my stepmom, my dad, and my dad’s twin sister. All these happened within 24 months,” she said.
Despite the emotional strain, Pastor Tolu spoke respectfully of her former spouse, describing him as a “great man”, and acknowledged that not all marriages are divinely ordained to last. “Sometimes, two people may not be meant to remain together no matter how much love or effort is involved,” she added.
The announcement has drawn an outpouring of sympathy and support online, with many praising her honesty and courage in discussing such a personal and painful topic.
Pastor Tolu comes from a prominent Christian family; her mother, Pastor Bimbo Odukoya, was a celebrated speaker and relationship coach before her death in 2005, while her father, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, passed away in 2023.
