In a statement released on Wednesday, Madrid confirmed Courtois suffered an adductor injury in his left leg. Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin is expected to step in, having previously replaced Courtois earlier this month when the Belgian sustained a minor hip injury.
Meanwhile, winger Rodrygo appeared to pick up a knock during the final stages of the Dortmund clash. Manager Carlo Ancelotti revealed the Brazilian is dealing with a muscular injury, with Spanish media reporting it is a hamstring issue that could rule him out of Saturday’s crucial match.
Real Madrid, currently in second place, trail Barcelona by three points, adding further significance to the upcoming El Clasico.
