Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has congratulated his son, Seni Saraki, on winning his first Grammy at the 67th Grammy Awards.
Seni earned the prestigious accolade for his contributions to the Bob Marley: One Love soundtrack, which won Best Reggae Album.
Expressing his pride in a post on X, Saraki lauded his son’s dedication and global recognition.
“Congratulations, Seni, on winning your first Grammy last night for your work on the Bob Marley: One Love soundtrack, which took home the award for Best Reggae Album! Seeing you pour your heart into your passion and having it recognised on the global stage is an indescribable joy. Well done! We are super proud of you!” he wrote.
Seni’s Reaction
Reacting to the achievement, Seni expressed gratitude to the artists and producers who contributed to the album’s success, including Nigerian stars Wizkid and Bloody Civilian.
“I appreciate all the amazing artists, producers, and engineers who were brave enough to take on this project because it is about Bob Marley’s legacy,” he said. “I appreciate them for taking on the songs, reinterpreting them, and doing it their own way. Artists like Bloody Civilian, Wizkid, Daniel Caesar, and Jessie Reyez.”
The Bob Marley: One Love album is a soundtrack to the biographical film about the reggae legend, chronicling his journey and musical impact.
A Growing Industry Profile
This Grammy win adds to Seni’s growing recognition in the global music industry. In 2023, he worked as a music consultant on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, which received four Grammy nominations.
A graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science, Seni is the CEO of The Native, a Lagos-based music magazine he co-founded in 2016 with Teni ‘Teezee’ Zaccheaus. The publication is dedicated to celebrating African music, style, and culture.
