Shell is showcasing its role in Nigeria’s economic and energy development at the 2025 International Conference and Exhibition of the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE), which opened on Monday in Lagos.
The 43rd NAPE conference marks the association’s 50th anniversary, with the theme, “Revitalising the Nigerian Petroleum Exploration and Production Strategies for Energy Security and Sustainable Development.”
Executive Vice President, Nigeria and Country Chair of Shell Companies in Nigeria, Marno de Jong, said the exhibition highlights Shell’s six-decade-long contribution to the nation’s progress through its operations and social investments.
“Shell has powered progress in Nigeria for over 60 years through our businesses and social investments. The Final Investment Decisions on the Bonga North and HI projects underscore our commitment to the country’s development. Our exhibition tells this story of progress and partnership,” de Jong stated.
Among the dignitaries who visited the Shell stand were Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, and Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Senior Production Geoscientist and Subsurface Integrator, Abidemi Belgore, led visitors on a tour of the stand, which showcased Shell’s achievements in deep-water production, domestic gas distribution, renewable energy, and enterprise empowerment.
