There was a big difference between the Mexico game and NPFL – Adeleke

Super Eagles B player Adeleke Adekunle is confident the home-based Super Eagles will learn from their outing against Mexico.
The NPFL stars were beaten 4-0 by the Mexicans in an international friendly match at the Los Angeles Coliseum last Sunday.
A double from Atletico Madrid star Hector Herrera and lone goals from Rogelio Funes Mori and Jonathan dos Santos gave the El Tri to a comfortable victory.
Speaking with brila.net on his experience, Adeleke Adekunle who is on the payroll of Nigeria professional football league side Abia Warriors, said he’s glad to part of the squad that played on the game.
“It was a great experience, and I’m happy to be part of the group, talking about the crowd, it was a good feeling playing in front of those thousands of people, for the game, we all waited for a moment like that to play a top-level football, and I learn a lot from it. ” He told brila.net.
The hard-tackling defender stressed that they lost the game for many reasons and added that, there is a load of works to be done to get Nigerian Football to that level.
“The game showed the big difference from our league, and we have much to learn and improve in our football before we can get to that level.”
“Again, we did not even have enough time to train together or play even a friendly game, like me I joined the team for  just two training sessions before, we left Nigeria, so if u put all these together, you will see we really try to do our best out there”
In a bid to keep exposing the home-based players, the Nigeria Football Federation announced that the team will engage in another top friendly match in October.
Reacting to the news, Adekunle opined that, the team will perform much better this time around.
“I believe now we have the experience so when next we have another outing like that, we will surely do better than that.” Adekunle concluded.
