Umar Sadiq hits brace vs Real Betis

Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq netted a brace in Almeria’s pre-season 2-1 win over Real Betis on Wednesday.
Sadiq put Almeria ahead in the 11th minute and scored the winner in the half-hour mark.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a debut campaign with Almeria last season as netted 28 goals and recorded nine assists in all competitions.

He was linked with a possible transfer to former Europe League Champions, but Almeria fights off the interest to retain his services for another campaign.

He singlehandedly led Almeria’s promotion charge last season, but the Club narrowly missed out in the play off.

Sadiq will be hoping to start the 2021-2022 season on a good note when Almeria travel to Cartegena on Monday, August 16 for their season opener.

UEFA Europa League winners Villarreal are leading Premier League giants Liverpool in the battle to sign Arnaut Danjuma from Bournemouth.

Marca newspaper has reported Villarreal are front runners for the signature of the 24-year-old winger, who was born in Lagos to a Nigerian father and a Dutch mother.

Bournemouth manager Scott Parker recently disclosed that the English Championship side rejected an offer for the former Club Brugge star.

Last season, Danjuma fired 17 goals and provided eight assists in 37 appearances for Bournemouth.
