Victor Osimhen to Stay at Napoli After Chelsea Transfer Talks Collapse

Napoli’s Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, will remain with the Serie A club after last-minute negotiations with Premier League giants Chelsea fell through before the summer transfer window closed. Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that talks between Napoli and Chelsea collapsed late in the process, leaving Osimhen’s future in limbo.

Romano shared the details on his X account, stating, “No agreement between Victor Osimhen and Chelsea even after a new proposal was presented two hours ago. Deal completely off for Victor Osimhen. No agreement with Chelsea, and the #CFC delegation is now leaving Napoli. If nothing happens from Saudi in the next three days, Osimhen will stay at Napoli but he’s not gonna be part of the first-team squad. Relationship currently completely broken.”

Just days earlier, Romano reported that Napoli had reached an agreement with Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli for Osimhen, with the deal valued at €75/80 million. The proposed contract would see Osimhen sign with Al Ahli for four years, earning between €25/30 million per season. The Saudi club had also included a relatively low release clause in their offer, significantly below the initially reported €100 million.

As the dust settles, Osimhen’s immediate future remains uncertain, with the striker likely staying at Napoli but potentially sidelined due to the fractured relationship with the club. The situation may yet evolve if a last-minute offer from Saudi Arabia materializes in the coming days.
