Zenith Bank Plc will launch the maiden edition of its Girl-Child Empowerment Programme on Monday, October 12, 2026, to promote girls’ education, skills development, confidence and leadership.
The virtual event, themed “Banking On Her Tomorrow,” is an initiative of the bank’s Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dame Dr Adaora Umeoji, OON. It will take place at 11 a.m., a day after the International Day of the Girl Child, observed annually on October 11.
According to the bank, the programme will feature experts from various fields who will share insights to help girls navigate their education and career choices, explore skills-development opportunities and prepare for leadership roles.
The initiative is also designed to provide mentorship and practical knowledge, while encouraging girls to recognise their potential and make informed decisions about their futures. The bank said the programme would become an annual platform for girl-child empowerment.
The initiative builds on Zenith Bank’s existing women-focused programmes, including its annual International Women’s Day Seminar, sponsorship of the Zenith Women’s Basketball League, the Women of Honour Awards in partnership with the Ford Foundation, and the Pad-a-Queen Initiative.
The bank also operates the Z-Woman initiative, which supports women-owned and women-led businesses through specialised funding, capacity building and networking opportunities.
Zenith Bank said the programmes reflect its commitment to supporting women and girls at different stages of their lives and contributing to national development.
The maiden edition is open to girls, parents, educators and other members of the public. Interested participants can register through the link provided by the bank, while those unable to join via Zoom can watch the event on its social media platforms.https://events.zoom.us/ev/AhU2FESLzXuo9VUK0jA1HzBmWCpvvDtRdcYMObih7zgSUjKEyTFs~AlKZVoKpnzFj0-Gs0a5KJNz9_lzYA2oDrpUePQJtAte6EPk4smEHGNT-Lg
