Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has criticized the use of makeup, suggesting it reflects a lack of faith in God’s creation. His remarks were made on Saturday during the RCCG ministers’ conference at Redemption City in Mowe, Ogun State, concluding the church’s 72nd annual convention.
Adeboye asserted that makeup is an expression of disbelief in the perfection of God’s creation. “When you marry, you adjust according to your means. Some people today try to emulate worldly standards, which were not present at the beginning,” he said.
The pastor condemned the extravagant spending on photo shoots and wedding decorations, emphasizing that such practices undermine the natural beauty bestowed by God. “Those who wear makeup are those who doubt that God did a good job,” Adeboye declared. “God created you perfectly, and you are unique. To attempt to enhance what God has made is foolishness; you cannot improve on His creation.”
Adeboye’s comments reflect his broader views on self-acceptance and faith, asserting that divine creation should be embraced as inherently perfect.
