Sisi Yemmie Reveals Mental Health Struggles During Unplanned Pregnancy

Popular Nigerian content creator Yemisi Odusanya, widely known as Sisi Yemmie, has shared her struggles with mental health during her most recent pregnancy. Speaking on the I Said What I Said podcast, Sisi Yemmie revealed that the pregnancy, which she had not planned, significantly impacted her emotional well-being, leading her to keep it private.

“I cried almost every day,” she confessed, explaining that the overwhelming feeling of having a fourth child left her feeling trapped. “I thought three kids were enough, and when the fourth came, I felt like I was falling into a hole with no escape.”

Despite the emotional challenges, Sisi Yemmie underscored the importance of perseverance. “You have to actively fight for your dreams,” she said, adding that she did not want to view motherhood as a race without an end.

Now a mother of four, Sisi Yemmie has found a balance between her career and family life, attributing her ability to manage both to a well-structured division of labor. She continues to build her content creation career while navigating the complexities of sharing her children’s lives online. “I am researching the effects of children being in the public eye,” she shared, noting that her daughter already appears in advertisements.

In addition to her content creation, Sisi Yemmie is working on a cookbook that will feature classic Nigerian recipes, aiming to provide an authentic culinary experience. Known for her popular food and lifestyle blog, SisiYemmieTV, she has been recognized by CNN Africa and praised by Prince Charles for her outstanding contributions to social media.

Sisi Yemmie’s story highlights the challenges of motherhood, career, and mental health, offering encouragement to others facing similar struggles.
