One of the notable outcomes of Nigeria’s engagement was a $320 million investment commitment from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, alongside partnerships with DP World and Mastercard, which promise significant economic and social benefits.
Nkwocha highlights that these diplomatic achievements demonstrate Nigeria’s renewed dedication to fostering international partnerships and addressing pressing global challenges. At the heart of Shettima’s speech was a call for restructuring the United Nations Security Council, advocating for a permanent seat for Nigeria and other African nations. The vice president also stressed the need for debt forgiveness for developing countries, collective action on climate change, and solutions to global crises like terrorism and hunger.
Shettima’s representation of President Tinubu was a masterclass in diplomacy, securing critical partnerships that will drive Nigeria’s economic growth. Notable wins include DP World’s offer to develop a massive port in Nigeria and commitments from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for flood relief and agricultural reforms.
