At the highly anticipated Lully Concert 2024, the event’s host began by acknowledging the hard work behind the scenes, introducing the LCA Chairperson, Sister Yetunde Akilalu, to the stage with a warm round of applause. “When I say ‘Praise,’ you say ‘The Game Changer!'” he prompted the audience, setting the tone for a night of worship and celebration.
“We welcome you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to this auspicious event,” Sister Akilalu declared. “This is the season that the Lord has made, and we are sure to rejoice and be glad in it.” She expressed deep gratitude to God, acknowledging His support and strength throughout the years.
The church’s leadership, particularly Reverend Emmanuel Mobi’ino Oshofa, was recognized, though absent in person, he was represented by church elders. Sister Akilalu also appreciated the esteemed presence of senior figures in the Celestial Church of Christ, including Most Superior Evangelist Banjo, for their dedication and contributions to the vision.
Addressing the congregation, Sister Akilalu warmly welcomed all attendees, thanking them for honoring God with their presence. She introduced the theme of this year’s concert, Praise: The Game Changer, citing 2 Chronicles 20:1-13 as the anchor scripture. She encouraged the audience not to be troubled, stating, “As we gather under the banner of praise and worship, like the people of Judah, you are overcoming in Jesus’ name.”
The Lully Concert, now in its 8th edition, began in 2016 through divine inspiration. The theme of new beginnings resonated deeply, and Sister Akilalu emphasized the concert’s growth into a global event that highlights the power of music as a unifying force. “We are here tonight to set the pace for new beginnings in every aspect of our lives through praise,” she declared.
Reflecting on the pre-event activities, Sister Akilalu detailed the media party, volunteers’ meet-and-greet, open mic event, and music masterclass, all of which showcased the abundance of talent within the Celestial Church. She highlighted the recent Lulike outreach, which focused on supporting the blind and visually impaired, as well as the wider community, celebrating its success.
As the evening progressed, Sister Akilalu ensured that attendees were informed about safety measures and facilities, including medical teams, security personnel, and conveniences spread throughout the venue. “We have a dedicated team in place to ensure a memorable and safe night,” she assured.
She also took the opportunity to express heartfelt gratitude to the concert’s partners and sponsors, including the Kholat Group, Meriavic, Main Street Capital, and others, thanking them for their support. “I pray your jar of oil will never run dry in Jesus’ name,” she said.
In closing, Sister Akilalu gave special recognition to Dr. Gwenga Daniel Adebayo, the convener of the event, for the opportunity to serve and contribute to this grace-filled concert. “What a man can do, a woman is also capable of doing,” she remarked, thanking the entire team for their dedication to making the event a success.
With a final prayer for blessings and memorable experiences, Sister Akilalu declared, “Under the authority of God and the approval of the convener, let the concert begin!” The Lully Concert 2024 officially commenced, promising an extraordinary night of praise and worship.
