Dr. Gwenga Daniel Adebayo, the convener of the Lully Concert 2024, welcomed attendees with warmth and gratitude, emphasizing the gifts of several ministers present to bless the congregation. “The Lord has said we should rejoice and be glad today, and we agree that it is indeed good to praise the Lord,” he declared.
Drawing inspiration from Psalms 1-5, Dr. Adebayo stated, “It is good to sing praises to the Most High, to proclaim His love in the morning and His faithfulness at night. We are gathered not as fools, but as people who understand the importance of giving praise to the Almighty.”
He expressed deep appreciation for the leadership of the Celestial Church of Christ, particularly honoring its founder, Pastor Emmanuel Oshafa, and acknowledging the representative leaders in attendance. He paid special tribute to the revered evangelist who established his home parish, CCC Emory Parish 1, recalling how the evangelist’s preaching led his family to Christ. “If not for the evangelism that reached my village, I wouldn’t be here today,” he noted.
Celebrating the legacy of evangelism, Dr. Adebayo fondly spoke of the elders who have carried the church’s mandate, including Most Superior Evangelist Eso Vanjo. He also recognized the unwavering support of Elder Pius Olarewaju and other partners who have contributed to the church’s mission.
As the 8th edition of the Lully Concert, Dr. Adebayo highlighted this year’s theme as a “season of new beginnings,” ushered in through praise. “With pure and undiluted worship, the game will change in our favor tonight,” he proclaimed, encouraging attendees to embrace praise as a transformative tool.
Referencing the Book of Revelation, he painted a picture of a heavenly gathering, describing a great multitude from every nation and tongue standing before the throne, praising God. He urged worshippers to prepare their hearts for the coming of Christ and to remain steadfast in their faith.
Before concluding, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to the ministers present, including Apostle and Professor Mike Adebamowo, and recognized his supportive wife for her role in the event’s success. “God bless you for being my rock,” he said.
As the service progressed, Dr. Adebayo called on the remaining ministers to prepare for the next segment of the program, ending with a final note of thanks to all who contributed to bringing the vision of the concert to life.
