The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) on Saturday began a computer-based aptitude test for 45,689 applicants competing for employment opportunities across various departments in the organization.
NNPCL spokesperson Olufemi Soneye, in a statement, noted that the recruitment exercise aims to fill multiple positions in the energy company. Interested candidates were earlier directed to visit the NNPCL careers page for detailed application instructions.
Recruitment Timeline and Assurances
The process follows a July 25, 2024, announcement by NNPCL inviting applications for openings. The national oil firm reaffirmed its commitment to merit-based recruitment in an update on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, stating that only the most qualified candidates will be selected.
Commitment to Fairness and Inclusivity
NNPCL Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, visited one of the testing centers to oversee the process and assured candidates of a smooth, transparent, and credible exercise.
“As an equal opportunity employer, NNPC Ltd. has made special provisions to ensure that applicants with disabilities can take the test without any hindrance,” the statement read.
Kyari emphasized that the company remains dedicated to recruiting the most qualified individuals from the pool of 45,689 applicants.
The aptitude test is a key step in NNPCL’s recruitment drive as the company seeks to attract top talent to bolster its workforce in the evolving energy sector.
