The Anambra State Government has demolished a building used as a hideout for kidnappers and other criminal activities in its ongoing efforts to combat crime in the South-East.
The structure, which operated under the guise of a hotel, was located along the Onitsha-Owerri Road in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area. Identified as Udoka Golden Point Hotel and Suites, also known as “La Cruise Hotel,” the facility reportedly housed over 30 partitioned graves and a shrine on its top floor.
This was disclosed in a statement released on Saturday by the Anambra State New Media via its official X (formerly Twitter) account.
“The demolition of this criminal hideout, disguised as a hotel, is a strong message to criminal elements in the state,” the statement read.
The government has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order, urging residents to report suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies.
Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo has continued to emphasize his administration’s zero-tolerance stance on crime, with security operatives intensifying efforts to uncover and dismantle criminal networks across the state.
