Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a further reduction in the gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, from N865 to N835 per litre. The new price takes effect from Wednesday, April 16, marking the second price cut by the refinery in one week.
According to the company, the revised prices will reflect across its partner retail outlets nationwide. Key partners such as MRS, Ardova (AP), Heyden, Optima Energy, Hyde, and Techno Oil will now dispense petrol at the following rates:
- Lagos: N890 per litre, down from N920
- South-West: N900, reduced from N930
- North-West and North-Central: N910, down from N940
- South-East, South-South, and North-East: N920, reduced from N950
Dangote Petroleum Refinery stated that the adjustment reaffirms its commitment to delivering high-quality fuel at affordable prices and ensuring that Nigerians benefit from a stable and efficient domestic supply of refined products.
The company also highlighted its collaborative efforts with retail partners to ensure the new pricing is uniformly reflected at the pumps.
“In February, we implemented back-to-back reductions totaling N125 per litre, alongside notable cuts in the prices of diesel and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG),” the refinery noted in a statement.
The company expressed optimism that the latest price cut would trigger a positive impact across multiple sectors of the economy, offering relief to consumers and supporting broader economic recovery, especially during the Easter season.
Dangote Petroleum Refinery reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a steady supply of premium-quality petroleum products to meet domestic demand and provide a surplus for export—an approach it says will help stabilize local markets and boost Nigeria’s foreign exchange reserves.
The refinery also urged petroleum marketers and distributors to continue sourcing products directly from its facility to ensure the benefits of the price reduction reach end users across the country.
