The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) has announced plans to secure multi-billion-dollar funding agreements during its 32nd Annual Meetings (AAM2025), scheduled for June 25–27 in Abuja.

According to a statement by Vincent Musumba, Afreximbank’s Manager of Communications and Events, the event will serve as a platform for memoranda of understanding (MoUs), investment partnerships, and private sector engagement. The meetings are expected to catalyse billions of dollars in funding over the next 5 to 10 years for key strategic sectors across the continent.

Musumba emphasized that AAM2025 will bring together heads of state, ministers, business leaders, and policymakers to accelerate initiatives under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), improve regional payment systems, and foster stronger Africa–Caribbean (CARICOM) economic relations.

Afreximbank President, Prof. Benedict Oramah, described the Abuja summit as timely. “Africa is facing global uncertainties with renewed resolve. AAM2025 is about catalysing action and building resilient institutions to unlock Africa’s innovation and trade potential,” he said.
