Lagos State First Lady, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has lauded the Rotary Club for its unwavering commitment to humanitarian service and alignment with the state government’s development priorities.
Speaking through Mrs. Funmilayo Omotoso, wife of the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, at the Fundraising and Investiture Ceremony of Adekunmilola Adio-Moses as the 22nd President of the Rotary Club of Omole-Golden, Dr. Sanwo-Olu applauded the Club’s contributions to healthcare, education, and community upliftment.
She noted that Rotary’s initiatives resonate with the Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration’s THEMES+ agenda, which emphasizes healthcare, education, social welfare, and sustainable development.
“Rotary’s dedication to community service strongly complements our administration’s efforts to improve the lives of Lagosians. As we celebrate this milestone, I urge everyone to reflect on how we can collectively make a difference. With partnerships like these, we can build a more equitable and prosperous society,” she said.
Dr. Sanwo-Olu also called on other non-governmental organizations and stakeholders to emulate Rotary’s civic-minded model and deepen collaboration for social impact.
Also speaking at the event, the Lagos State Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Ope George, commended the Rotary Club of Omole-Golden for its consistent interventions aimed at uplifting the less privileged.
In his acceptance speech, the new president, Adekunmilola Adio-Moses, reaffirmed the Club’s mission of selfless service.
“We will serve not for recognition, but because we genuinely care. We will give, not for applause, but because the needs around us are real,” he said.
He also emphasized unity and collaboration as guiding principles for his tenure, adding, “Let us work together in harmony, leveraging our diverse strengths and experiences. Unity will be our strategy; service will be our identity.”
