FirstBank has announced the 2025 edition of its Agric and Export Conference, themed “The Fundamentals of Building a Non-Oil Export Driven Economy,” scheduled for Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the Eko Convention Centre, Lagos.
The event, which will adopt a hybrid format, aims to spotlight emerging trends in Nigeria’s agricultural and non-oil export sectors, offering participants practical insights and innovative strategies to boost economic growth. While principal stakeholders will attend in person, most participants are expected to join virtually.
The conference will feature keynote speeches, goodwill messages, plenary discussions, and technical sessions led by industry experts. Exhibitions will showcase products and services from leading organizations and associations in the agriculture and export value chain.
Senator Abubakar Kyari, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, will deliver the keynote address. Other confirmed speakers include Jafar Abubakar Umar, Managing Director, Bank of Agriculture; Abba Bello, Managing Director/CEO, Nigerian Export-Import Bank; Segun Awolowo, National Action Committee on AfCFTA; Kabir Ibrahim, President, All Farmers Association of Nigeria; and Nonye Ayeni, CEO, Nigerian Export Promotion Council, among others.
FirstBank Group Managing Director, Olusegun Alebiosu, described the conference as a “strategic platform for stakeholders to converge, share knowledge, and drive strategies that can unlock the full potential of Nigeria’s agricultural sector and non-oil export industry.” He added that the bank’s goal is to empower customers and stakeholders with actionable insights, innovative solutions, and valuable connections to enhance their competitiveness in the global market.
