The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) has approved the dissolution of its Akwa Ibom State Executive, appointing a 31-member caretaker committee to manage the state chapter’s affairs.
The committee, effective from Tuesday, September 30, 2025, will serve for a maximum of three months or until a new State Executive Committee is elected. Igwat Umoren was named Chairman, with Harrison Ekpo as Deputy Chairman, Borono Bassey as Secretary, and Ewa Okpo as Publicity Secretary. Other key appointments include Emman Mbong as Organising Secretary, Aniekan Asuquo as Youth Leader, Mary Silvia Abara as Woman Leader, and Enoch Enoch as Legal Adviser.
Additional members of the caretaker committee include Aniebiet Cornelius, Udim Peters, Ayanime Obot, Ofon Michael, Esther Bassey Effiong, David Umanah, Usenmfon Ibanga, and Unwana Assam, among others.
Debo Ologunagba, PDP National Publicity Secretary, urged party leaders and members in Akwa Ibom to remain united and work collaboratively for the party’s progress.
