Former Minister of Interior and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has decried the worsening economic hardship in the country, declaring that “under the current administration, hunger has taken over the land.”
Aregbesola, who spoke during a recent engagement with party members, said governance has been “reduced to mere rhetoric,” adding that the ADC is poised to take over power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
He accused the APC of promoting insecurity and displaying intolerance toward opposition parties, alleging that its leaders have been “hounding and harassing” ADC members nationwide.
“If the APC is as confident of its strength as it claims, it wouldn’t be so desperate to hunt down opposition members everywhere,” Aregbesola said. “They are intimidating our members in Lagos, Kebbi, Kaduna, and beyond. If they were truly popular, they would remain calm. Their actions show they are not as confident as they pretend to be. The party that will harvest their unpopularity is ADC.”
The former minister reaffirmed his party’s commitment to restoring good governance, economic stability, and democratic freedom in Nigeria, stressing that the ADC represents a credible alternative for Nigerians seeking genuine change in 2027.
