Dangote Group has dismissed reports linking it to a truck involved in a fatal road accident in Akungba-Akoko, Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State.
In a statement, the company clarified that the vehicle in question does not belong to Dangote Group or any of its subsidiaries. Verified registration records, it said, confirm that the truck with Plate No. JJJ 365 XB is owned and operated by an independent logistics company with no affiliation to the conglomerate.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the truck was not conveying Dangote products but was transporting crushed stones in reused sacks bearing various brand names,” the company stated.
Dangote Industries further explained that all its trucks are distinctly branded, tracked, and operated by trained personnel under strict safety and compliance standards. “All genuine Dangote trucks carry identifiable company markings and fleet numbers,” it added.
While expressing sympathy to victims of the accident, the company urged the public and media to verify information before attributing ownership or involvement to the Dangote Group. It also cautioned against using images of Dangote-branded trucks in reports unrelated to its operations.
Dangote Industries reaffirmed its commitment to road safety, regulatory compliance, and responsible corporate practices across all its operations in Nigeria and beyond.
