As part of his re-election campaign ahead of the November 8 gubernatorial polls, Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, took his campaign trail to Ajalli and Umunze in Orumba North and South local government areas, where he addressed thousands of enthusiastic supporters.
The Governor’s visit, according to his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, was aimed at engaging local communities, showcasing his administration’s achievements, and outlining plans for continued development across key sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, and education.
Speaking to over 10,000 supporters, Soludo reaffirmed his confidence in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), describing the campaign as “a divine project and a mass movement.” He noted that the level of grassroots mobilization and community-driven financial contributions to his campaign was unprecedented in the state’s political history.
“This visit is a homecoming for me,” Soludo said. “Four years ago, you gave me your support, and I am here to thank you and ask that you stand with us again. Everyone is saying we are the consensus candidate in Anambra. Soludo will win with your vote.”
He urged residents to vote wisely and ensure their ballots count, emphasizing, “Be careful when you vote to avoid an invalid vote.”
Soludo pledged accelerated development in the next four years, promising continued investment in roads, schools, and hospitals. “We are intentionally building a society where everyone has the opportunity to excel,” he said. “Our commitment to improving the lives of the people of Anambra remains unwavering.”
Prominent political figures at the rally—including former Deputy Governor Chief Emeka Sibeudu, Commissioner for Agriculture Dr. Foster Ihejiofor, Chief of Staff Ernest Ezeajughi, and Member representing Orumba North and South Federal Constituency Princess Chinwe Nnabuife—expressed strong confidence in APGA’s dominance in the region.
They affirmed that the party remains the only political force in Orumba, pledging total support for Soludo’s re-election bid. In a show of solidarity, Orumba North and South communities collectively donated ₦225 million to boost the Governor’s campaign.
