West Africa’s leading Tier III carrier and cloud-neutral data centre, Rack Centre, has announced the launch of EdgeNext’s Content Delivery Network (CDN) and cloud hosting services in Nigeria. The new services will be hosted at Rack Centre’s state-of-the-art facility in Lagos.
With a population exceeding 200 million and one of Africa’s youngest demographics, Nigeria is witnessing rapid growth in its digital economy. Rising demand for internet services, mobile apps, gaming, e-commerce, and social media has created a strong need for reliable, high-performance infrastructure to ensure seamless digital experiences.
EdgeNext’s expansion into Nigeria aims to address this demand by enhancing content delivery and cloud hosting efficiency, offering faster application performance, and enabling businesses to scale across the region. Its global acceleration network is designed to reduce latency and improve the digital experience for video, social media, and e-commerce platforms serving Nigerian users.
In addition, EdgeNext’s flexible cloud hosting services will allow small and medium-sized enterprises and developers to deploy applications quickly, lower IT costs, and drive digital transformation. The company is also developing specialized gaming cloud solutions to meet the needs of Nigeria’s growing gaming community, offering low-latency and high-concurrency performance for mobile, PC, and cloud gaming.

Rack Centre’s 13.5MW Lagos campus hosts more than 73 carriers, ISPs, and network operators. The recently launched LGS2 facility operates at a design Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.35, powered by sustainable energy sources, and provides direct connectivity to every subsea cable landing on Africa’s Atlantic coast, including Equiano and the forthcoming 2Africa cable.
The partnership underscores the growing demand for edge services across Africa and reinforces Rack Centre’s position as the preferred gateway for global technology providers expanding into the continent.
