In collaboration with the Tunisian Ministry of Economy and Planning, a capacity-building program on “Risk Management in Islamic Financial Institutions” was held in Tunis from 10 to 14 November 2025, aimed at strengthening the resilience of the country’s Islamic financial sector.
Organized at the request of the Tunisian government, the program provided participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in risk management, enhancing the development and stability of Islamic finance in Tunisia.
Twenty participants attended the training, representing key institutions including the Central Bank of Tunisia, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy and Planning, the Tunisian Solidarity Bank, the Bank for Financing Small and Medium Enterprises, the Tunisian Banking Company, the General Insurance Authority, and the Tunisian Company for Foreign Trade Insurance.
The program was delivered by senior trainers Dr. Mohammed Ayyash and Dr. Abozer Mohamed from the Islamic Development Bank Institute (IsDBI), and Dr. Abdelkrim Guendouz from the Arab Monetary Fund. Across 15 sessions, participants explored topics such as the principles of Islamic finance, credit, market, liquidity, operational, rate of return, and equity investment risks, alongside practical case analyses.
The closing ceremony was attended by Her Excellency Mrs. Faiza Frad, IsDB Alternate Governor and Director General of Arab and Islamic Cooperation at the Ministry of Economy and Planning, and Mr. Khalifa Al-Sabbou’i, Chairman and General Manager of the Tunisian Solidarity Bank. Participants received certificates of attendance issued by IsDBI.
