Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been awarded an honorary Doctorate in Business Administration by Rome Business School, Nigeria. The accolade was presented on Saturday during the school’s 2025 graduation ceremony at Victoria Island, Lagos.
Prof. Antonio Ragusa, founder of Rome Business School and its Nigerian chapter, said the honorary degree recognizes Governor Sanwo-Olu’s outstanding leadership, dedicated service, and commitment to the development and wellbeing of Lagos State. He highlighted the governor’s visionary initiatives that have bolstered economic growth, social progress, and educational advancement in Lagos.
“His honorary degree honours not only his remarkable contributions but also his enduring legacy of service and leadership that inspires future generations,” Prof. Ragusa said.
In his remarks, Governor Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to providing quality and affordable education in the state. He noted that within six years, Lagos has increased the number of state-owned universities from one to three and continues to expand public school infrastructure.
Congratulating the graduands, the governor encouraged them to embrace innovation, collaboration, and hard work. He urged graduates to approach challenges with confidence, integrity, and a solutions-oriented mindset, emphasizing that Nigeria’s future depends on prepared and proactive citizens.
Governor Sanwo-Olu also commended Rome Business School’s management for their commitment to knowledge and character development, noting that the school’s graduates are equipped to compete globally.
