Wema Bank, Nigeria’s pioneer of digital banking and the institution behind Africa’s first fully digital bank, ALAT, has strengthened its presence in the entertainment sector through a major collaboration with Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, on the Nigerian leg of his 5ive Tour.
The Nigerian edition of the tour, which reached its fourth stop on 9 November 2025, has attracted more than 80,000 fans across Uyo, Yola, Enugu and Ibadan. Davido kicked off the 5ive Tour earlier this year in celebration of his fifth studio album and completed an international circuit before announcing on 14 October that the tour would extend to Nigeria in partnership with Wema Bank, his long-time financial collaborator.
Wema Bank has led the execution of the tour’s domestic run, delivering large-scale spectacles that span all four regions of the country. The bank’s approach emphasised national diversity and cultural inclusion, earning praise for elevating the tour into what many now describe as the biggest studio tour in Africa.
As the major sponsor, Wema Bank offered its customers exclusive access to concerts through regular and VIP tickets and distributed limited-edition Davido 5ive Tour merchandise that quickly gained nationwide popularity. The bank’s visibility and youth-centric strategy have drawn commendation from audiences at home and abroad, reinforcing its image as an innovative, lifestyle-focused financial brand.
The Wema Bank–Davido partnership continues to be regarded as a leading example of how the finance and entertainment industries can collaborate to shape modern culture and consumer engagement.
