Nigeria’s economy expanded by 3.98 percent year-on-year in real terms in the third quarter of 2025, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported on Monday. The growth surpasses the 3.86 percent recorded in the same period in 2024.

According to the NBS, the agriculture sector grew by 3.79 percent, up from 2.55 percent in Q3 2024. The industry sector recorded a growth of 3.77 percent, compared with 2.78 percent a year earlier, while the services sector grew by 4.15 percent, slightly lower than 4.97 percent in Q3 2024.

The services sector remained the largest contributor to GDP, accounting for 53.02 percent of the total, up from 52.93 percent in the corresponding quarter of 2024.

In nominal terms, Nigeria’s aggregate GDP at basic prices stood at N113.58 trillion, marking an 18.12 percent increase from N96.16 trillion recorded in Q3 2024.

The NBS data reflects steady growth across key sectors of the economy, driven by improvements in agriculture and industry, even as services continued to dominate overall output.
