The Anambra State Government has warmly welcomed Ndi Anambra from across Nigeria and the diaspora as they return home to celebrate the festive season with their families and communities.
The government said the homecoming of citizens during the festivities strengthens the bonds of unity and reaffirms a shared commitment to building a prosperous and liveable state.
Speaking on behalf of the government, the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Law Mefor, described the festive period as an opportunity for returning residents to witness firsthand the rapid transformation taking place in the state under the administration of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR.
Mefor noted that in less than three years, the Soludo administration has implemented bold reforms and delivered extensive infrastructural projects with what he described as unprecedented results. He highlighted key developments, including the Anambra Beltway—comprising five ongoing dual carriageways designed to improve connectivity across the state—and the Ekwulobia Flyover, an iconic project driving urban regeneration and enhanced mobility.
He also cited the transformation of Okpoko from a previously neglected slum into a model of urban renewal, now popularly referred to by residents as “New Haven.”
Other landmark projects, according to the commissioner, include the Solution Fun City and Anambra Country Club in Awka, which are redefining leisure, hospitality and tourism in the state. He described the Solution Fun City as a unique facility featuring a co-located Water Park, Amusement Park, Family Fun Centre and an International Country Club. He also referenced the newly constructed ultra-modern Government House, designed to enhance efficiency and innovation in governance through a one-stop executive complex.
Mefor further disclosed that the administration has constructed five new general hospitals and executed numerous road and community projects across the state’s 21 local government areas.
The commissioner urged Ndi Anambra to support their local communities, particularly by strengthening Agunechemba community vigilante groups, to sustain security at the grassroots level.
He also called on residents to continue supporting Governor Soludo and the Solution Government to ensure sustained development, stressing that Anambra is steadily rising as a smart, liveable and prosperous homeland.
