President Bola Tinubu has approved the posting of four ambassador-designates from the 68 confirmed by the Senate in December 2025, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, announced on Thursday.
The postings include Ambassador Ayodele Oke to France, Colonel Lateef Are to the United States, and Ambassador Amin Dalhatu, former envoy to South Korea, as High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
In a memo to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Tinubu instructed that the respective governments be formally notified in line with diplomatic procedures.
The Senate confirmed all 64 career and non-career ambassadorial nominees on December 18, following the Committee on Foreign Affairs’ report. Earlier, on December 4, Tinubu had sent a request for confirmation of 65 nominees, including 34 career and 31 non-career ambassadors and high commissioners.
Among the non-career nominees are prominent political figures such as former INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu, former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode, ex-Abia Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, and former presidential aide Reno Omokri.
