By Ayomide Otitoju

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu witnessed the signing of a £746 million financing agreement in London between Nigeria’s Ministry of Finance, led by Wale Edun, and Citi Bank.

The funding is intended to modernise Apapa and Tin Can Island ports in Lagos, addressing congestion, improving operational efficiency, and boosting Nigeria’s trade capacity.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of President Tinubu’s two-day state visit to the UK. He and his wife, Oluremi Tinubu, who arrived on Tuesday, received ceremonial military honours including a gun salute and were hosted at a state banquet by King Charles III on Wednesday evening.

The financing deal was also witnessed by a Nigerian delegation accompanying the President.
