Access Holdings Warns of Fake Chairman Investment Scam

By Ayomide Otitoju

Access Holdings Plc has raised an alert over a fraudulent scheme involving individuals impersonating its Chairman, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, in an attempt to lure unsuspecting members of the public into fake investment opportunities.

According to the notice, the scammers created a WhatsApp group titled “Value Focus Club 60” using a Nigerian phone number and falsely used the chairman’s image to give the scheme a semblance of legitimacy.

The company clarified that Aig-Imoukhuede does not operate any WhatsApp investment groups and that Access Holdings does not provide investment advice or opportunities through the messaging platform.

The fraudulent activity was reportedly flagged by a whistleblower, prompting the warning to the public.

Access Holdings urged individuals to avoid joining or engaging with the group, refrain from sharing personal or financial information, and report and block the number on WhatsApp.

The firm added that steps are being taken to shut down the operation, while emphasizing the importance of public awareness in preventing further incidents
