Access Bank Plc has received two major honours at the 2026 Global Good Governance (3G) Awards, reinforcing its position in corporate governance and sustainable community development.

The bank won the 3G Community Empowerment Award 2026 and the 3G Best Corporate Governance Framework Award 2026.

The awards, presented by Cambridge IFA under the Global Good Governance Awards platform, followed an extensive independent research and evaluation process conducted during the nomination stage.

The award ceremony took place on April 28, 2026, in Singapore and attracted over 300 participants from more than 15 countries, including representatives from government institutions, corporate organisations, and social and philanthropic sectors. The event recognised excellence in governance, sustainability, transparency, and social responsibility.

Mr. Eyitayo Olabode represented the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank Plc, Roosevelt Ogbonna, at the event and received the awards on behalf of the bank.

Speaking on the recognition, Ogbonna said the awards affirm Access Bank’s commitment to responsible leadership, strong governance practices, and inclusive growth.

“This recognition is a validation of Access Bank’s commitment to responsible leadership, strong governance structures, and inclusive growth. At Access Bank, we believe good governance is foundational to building trust, creating shared value, and driving sustainable development across our markets,” he said.

He added that the awards reflected the dedication of the bank’s workforce and its continued efforts to empower communities, strengthen transparency, and ensure accountability across its operations.

“We remain committed to setting high standards that deliver long-term value for our stakeholders and the communities we serve,” Ogbonna added.

The 2026 edition of the programme also featured the Global Good Governance Summit and the launch of the Global Good Governance Report 2026, hosted by Dentons Rodyk in Singapore.

Held under the theme, “AI Governance for the Prosperity of the People and the Planet,” the summit provided a platform for discussions on governance, ethics, and sustainability.

The awards further highlight Access Bank’s ongoing efforts to combine strong corporate performance with social impact, while advancing responsible banking and long-term value creation.
