The Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), Onibode Parish, has unveiled plans for its 30th Annual Adult Harvest Thanksgiving, themed “Uncommon Glory,” with the main celebration scheduled for Sunday, October 25, 2026.
The unveiling ceremony, held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, brought together church leaders, members and supporters to commemorate the milestone and celebrate what they described as three decades of faith, sacrifice, growth and God’s faithfulness.
Speaking at the event, Supreme Euanic Adesuyi Samuel Komolafe described the parish’s 30-year journey as a significant achievement, particularly in view of the challenges faced by many organisations and churches established around the same period.
Komolafe said the continued survival and growth of the parish demonstrated God’s faithfulness, noting that some individuals and institutions that began their journeys around the same time were no longer in existence.
The Chairperson of the Harvest Committee, Mrs Yeye Oluwabuko, expressed gratitude for the parish’s progress and said the committee was working towards a successful celebration despite the economic challenges facing the community.
She said the theme, “Uncommon Glory,” reflects the committee’s prayers for God’s blessings and mercy upon members’ families, businesses, careers, health and other aspects of their lives.
According to Oluwabuko, the parish has lined up a week-long programme of activities, including concerts, revival programmes and other events ahead of the main harvest celebration.
The parish Onibode Pastor, Oluwasegun Emmanuel Oguntuga, was also commended by members for his commitment to the church and dedication to its growth.
Members described Oguntuga as a committed servant of God who has maintained a strong relationship with the church and its members while supporting various parish activities.
The Secretary of the Adult Harvest Committee, Evangelist Samuel Natsi, said the unveiling was significant as it marked the beginning of activities leading to the 30th anniversary celebration.
Natsi said the programme would feature a Praise Night, Revival Crusade, Bible Quiz and Culture Day, among other activities scheduled ahead of October 25.
He urged members and well-wishers in Nigeria and abroad to participate in the celebration, saying the committee was determined to make the 30th anniversary different from previous editions.
“We want everyone from all over the world to come and celebrate with us. We have planned several activities throughout the week, and we believe it will be a memorable and blessed celebration,” he said.
Speaking on the significance of harvest celebrations, Rev. Dr. Chaplain A. A. Ola Oyewusi described harvest as an important act of sacrifice and thanksgiving in the church.
Oyewusi urged members, particularly young people, to remain committed to the doctrines and values of the Celestial Church of Christ while promoting unity and discipline.
He also called for greater understanding of the church’s teachings and encouraged members to uphold law and order within the parish.
The parish traced its history to December 1996 and January 1997, when worshippers began gathering at a beach for prayers and worship.
The church later moved to a temporary site in February 1997, where members continued to build the parish through worship, prayers and collective sacrifice.
In 2007, the parish moved to its permanent site, marking another major milestone in its development.
As it celebrates 30 years in 2026, the parish is reflecting on the contributions of its founding members, shepherds, elders, workers and other faithful members who helped sustain its growth over the years.
The organisers said they expect church members, visitors and supporters from different parts of Nigeria and the Republic of Benin to attend the 30th Annual Adult Harvest.
The celebration will climax on Sunday, October 25, with the organisers describing the event as an opportunity for thanksgiving, fellowship and renewed commitment to the mission and values of the church.
