The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has restored its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) after a temporary disruption, allowing institutions to continue processing admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session.
In a statement on Monday, JAMB said CAPS was “fully restored and is now operational” and urged institutions to speed up their admission processes to recover lost time and meet approved deadlines.
Public universities have until October 31, 2026, to complete their admission processes, while private universities have until November 30, 2026, the board said.
JAMB also advised candidates who receive admission offers to accept them promptly.
The board further urged candidates who had been awaiting their examination results to upload or verify their credentials following the release of the 2026 National Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination results.
According to JAMB, the step is necessary to ensure candidates’ credentials are available for consideration as institutions intensify their admission processes.
The board urged candidates, institutions and other stakeholders to take advantage of the restoration of CAPS and continue the admission exercise within the approved timelines.
JAMB apologised for the inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption and thanked stakeholders for their patience and understanding.
