Minister of Power Joseph Tegbe has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Tinubu support groups in Oyo State to strengthen unity and mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Tegbe made the call during a series of engagements with APC leaders, members and support groups in Ibadan, including meetings with the party’s Reconciliation Committee, the state executive and Tinubu support groups.
The Minister began with the APC Reconciliation Committee, led by its chairman, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, where he commended its efforts to reconcile members following the party’s primaries.
He pledged to support the reconciliation process by engaging aggrieved aspirants and other stakeholders. Lanlehin, in response, said the committee would continue its engagements until outstanding differences within the party were resolved.
Tegbe later visited the APC State Secretariat in Oke-Ado, where he was received by the state chairman, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, and members of the State Executive Committee.
He urged the party leadership to accommodate different interests and political tendencies within the APC and reaffirmed his support for the party.
At the Oyo State Secretariat of the Tinubu Support Group in Yemetu, Tegbe urged support groups to take the Federal Government’s policies and programmes to communities and mobilise voters for Tinubu and APC candidates at all levels in 2027.
The Minister also highlighted developments in the power sector, saying electricity generation and transmission had risen above 5,300 megawatts in recent weeks.
He said increased power availability could support households, businesses and industries, linking improved electricity supply to the administration’s broader industrialisation and job-creation objectives.
Leaders of the various support groups thanked Tegbe for his support and pledged to work towards the success of the APC at the polls.
The engagements focused on party reconciliation, internal cohesion and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
