Japan Tobacco International (JTI) Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting economic growth and responsible business practices as Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.

The company, which has operated in Nigeria for 18 years, said its activities have contributed to the economy while it continues to promote an inclusive workplace focused on respect, equal opportunity and employee development.

JTI Nigeria General Manager, Abdallah Simba, said the anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on Nigeria’s progress and the resilience of its people.

“ We are proud to have been part of Nigeria’s story for 18 years and remain committed to conducting our business responsibly, supporting our employees, and contributing meaningfully to the country and our stakeholders,” Simba said.

He added that the company would continue to build on its progress and strengthen its contribution to the Nigerian economy while creating sustainable value for its employees, partners and other stakeholders.

JTI Nigeria is part of Japan Tobacco International, a global tobacco and vaping company headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, with operations in more than 130 countries and about 47,000 employees worldwide.
