Gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has died, his family has announced.

The family confirmed his death in a statement posted on his verified social media pages late Wednesday, saying he died in the early hours of October 14, 2026.

“With deep sorrow, the family announces the passing of Minister Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, Toluwani Gospel Music Ministry (TOGOMM), who passed away in the early hours of 14 October 2026,” the statement read.

Describing him as a beloved husband, family member and gospel minister, the family appealed for prayers for his wife and other loved ones.

The cause of his death was not disclosed, while details of his funeral arrangements are expected to be announced later.

His death has sparked an outpouring of tributes from colleagues, entertainers and fans.

Comedian Ayo Ajewole, popularly known as Woli Agba, described the singer’s death as “sunset at midday”, lamenting the loss of his distinctive voice and contributions to gospel music.

“An angel just passed on. A VERY UNIQUE VOICE has dropped the microphone and walked off the stage just like that. What a painful and heartbreaking loss!” he wrote on Instagram.

Woli Agba said the singer’s music had brought joy and touched lives, adding that his death had left a painful void in the hearts of many.

Gospel singer Tope Alabi also expressed shock over his death, saying she was struggling to come to terms with the news.

“I still can’t wrap my head around this. It hurts, but I will not sorrow as those who have no hope. I find comfort in knowing that a saint has joined the angels,” she wrote.

Alabi prayed for God to comfort the deceased’s family, friends and colleagues, adding that he would be remembered.

Filmmaker Funke Akindele also paid tribute to the singer, describing him as a humble and hardworking man.

“Ha. Hmmmm, such a humble and hard-working gentleman. May his soul rest in peace. May the Lord comfort his loved ones,” she wrote in a comment on the announcement.

In July, Toluwanisings disclosed that he and members of his team had survived a road accident while returning from a ministration.

The singer said a fully loaded trailer had nearly crushed their vehicle but expressed gratitude that everyone escaped unharmed.

Toluwanisings was known for his energetic praise songs, with popular tracks including Eleda and I’m Not Alone.
