Leeds United midfielder Brenden Aaronson has signed a new three-year contract extension after an impressive campaign following the club’s return to the Premier League.
The United States international played a key role in Leeds’ Championship title-winning campaign in the 2024/25 season, scoring nine goals and providing one assist after returning from a loan spell at Union Berlin.
Aaronson initially faced criticism following his return to Elland Road, but he gradually won back supporters with a series of energetic and committed performances.
The 25-year-old also impressed in the Premier League last season, scoring four goals and providing five assists in 37 appearances.
His work rate has been a major feature of his game, with Aaronson averaging 10.8 kilometres per match last season, placing him among the league’s leading players for distance covered.
After starting much of the campaign on the right wing, Aaronson adapted to the position and provided an attacking threat while also offering defensive support to right-back Jayden Bogle.
His new contract makes Aaronson the third Leeds player in two days to commit his future to the club, highlighting manager Daniel Farke’s continued faith in the midfielder.
Leeds will begin their new Premier League campaign away to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, with Aaronson expected to play a key role as the club targets a positive start.
