Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has ordered the immediate arrest of all those involved in the killing of Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as “Emir Ajagungbade.”
Adeleke said the incident was linked to an alleged leadership tussle over motor parks and directed security agencies to restore order across affected parks and other areas of the state.
The governor also ordered the immediate vacation of motor parks by rival groups and announced plans to establish a Park Management System to regulate parks and garages across the state.
In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke directed the Commissioner of Police to arrest all persons found to be involved in the killing.
“The governor charged the Commissioner of Police to act immediately to arrest all those involved. Law and order must be maintained. There will be no sacred cows as all culprits will be brought to book,” the statement said.
Adeleke said he would issue an Executive Order to give legal effect to the new Park Management System, which he said would restore discipline and orderliness in motor parks across the state.
“We will ensure restoration of peace in all the affected parks and areas. The security agencies are under instruction to ensure the sustainability of peace at all costs,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Osun State Police Command said it had commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Oyeyemi’s shooting in Ile-Ife on September 13, 2026.
The command said its operatives were alerted to an incident around Energy Filling Station, Ile-Ife, and were deployed to restore normalcy, secure the scene and begin investigations.
It said the investigation would establish the immediate and remote causes of the shooting, identify those responsible and ensure that anyone found culpable is brought to justice.
The command urged residents to remain calm while investigations continue.
