One of the conveners of Lagos Fashion Week, Princess Ronke Ademiluyi gave a warm opening speech to the delight of participants and guests present at the event.
She said the fashion week was an avenue to showcase African brand, fashion and textile to the world.
According to her, the fashion industry is growing on the continent and by extension the world.

AFWN Nigeria for the Past 8 Years, has consistently delivered what we do best , which is showcasing the best of Africa’s Fashion talents .
This year we are Partnering with two power houses , Lagos fashion fair and Toyin Lawani’s Masterclass, to bring to you the best of Africa’s established and emerging brands, knowledge and skills to scale fashion businesses in the fashion industry .
With over 60 designers on the runway , we have been headlining AFWN 2022, the Unparalleled Amos Ejiro Tafiri , who is an inspiration to emerging brands. Designers from other African countries such as Gambia, Cameroon, Mozambique, Ethiopia and the African diaspora are also showcasing at this year’s edition. with the best of the designers going to showcase at African Fashion week London in celebration of black History Month in October. the Closing Ceremony of African
Fashion week Nigeria 2022 will feature an Adire Celebrity Catwalk with celebs on the runway draped in Adirie, designs by the Godmother of Adirie Chief Mrs Nike Okundaye of Arts Gallery .
Also, Adire Oodua which is under the Chairmanship of the custodian of the Yoruba Culture and Traditions, HIM Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja ll will be conducting a workshop, teaching various methods of making Adirie ranging from the Eleko, Oniko, Alabela, Alabere, as our heritage fabric continues to take the center stage globally .
